Meet Charles Augustus Hansen

Charles was born on March 17, 1883 in St. Charles, ID. the son of a Norwegian father Ole Valineous Hansen, and a mother Ruth Caroline Mowrey who descended from our country's settling Pilgrims.

Charles was the sixth of the fourteen children in his family.  He had five brothers and eight sisters.  Twelve of these fourteen children were raised to adulthood, two died as toddlers, one sister and one brother.

At 24 years he married Emma Vilate Hansen, 18, from Garden City, UT at Paris, ID.  Emma was the daughter of a Danish father Hans Soren Hansen and an English mother Emma Saxton.  Emma was the sixth of nine children in her family.

Charles and Vilate lived first in _____________ and then _____________ before finally settling at their home in Pickleville, Garden City, UT.  This home sat along the west side of HWY 89  and the west side of Bear Lake along the small straight stretch leading to Ideal Beach a mile or so to the south.
